reaching down
Emulsion, spray paint and conte crayon on photograph
20cm x 25cm
The apparent suggested movement of the reaching form is organic, a natural curve that seems to occur in the majority of my paintings. The background is not as simple as it first seems, ripples and delicate blemishes fill the surface which hint at the methods of creation. The form seems to be stretching trying to gather something. Something that has perhaps, fallen beyond a comfortable distance. Not in easy reach.
