submerging

Submerging: Oil pastel and conte crayon over an almost black pre-developed photograph details are then scratched in with coloured pencil and ballpoint pen. Naturally enough the blue shades suggest water but the darkness tells of maybe a submerging enhanced by the suggestion of bubbles or dust clouds forming as the item sinks beneath.  Are we perhaps looking out of the window of a submersible while journeying to the bottom of the sea?
